'Sit on Snow' is an intervention that takes place on a wintry University of Toronto campus. This project is meant to turn an everyday winter utility scene into an opportunity. Sway and take up valuable space from our public realm for several months a year. This action demands that we reclaim some of that space back as a public utility, and find opportunities in our street elements that we overlook in our everyday life; especially in a winter city. This project was designed as requirement for an elective during my MArch at U of T.
'Sit on Snow' was selected to be part of the Call to Actions Exhibit forming part of the Actions: What You Can Do With the City Exhibition presenting 99 actions that instigate positive change in contemporary cities around the world. Sit on Snow was chosen as one of 5 supplementary projects. Nov 2008 - Apr 2009
'Sit on Snow' was further selected to be part of the Biennale Internationale du Design in 2010 in St. Etienne France as part of the La Ville Mobile - Cite du design Exhibit. Nov 2010 - March 2011. Publication: Rubini C. La Ville Mobile: Cite du design. 2011.
